INSTALLATION & FAQ

How to Install Leather Floor Protectors

Follow these simple steps to ensure a strong, long-lasting bond:

  1. Clean the surface
Wipe the bottom of each furniture leg with rubbing alcohol to remove dust, oils, or debris. Let the surface dry completely before applying the pad.

  2. Peel & Position
Remove the liner from the adhesive backing. Center the leather pad under the furniture leg, making sure it covers the entire base without overhanging.

  3. Press Firmly
Press the pad against the surface for at least 10 seconds to activate the adhesive.

  4. Seat & Set
If installing on chairs, sit in the chair for 5 minutes without shifting or dragging to help the pad fully conform to the leg.

  5. Allow 24 Hours to Cure
Avoid moving the furniture for 24 hours while the adhesive reaches full bond strength.

Important Notes

  • Choose the right size — Select a pad that fully matches the base of the furniture leg for proper adhesion and edge-to-edge coverage.

  • Remove existing feet first — These pads are designed to bond directly to wood or metal surfaces. Do not apply over plastic glides, nail-on caps, or other existing feet. Remove them completely before installation.

  • Smooth surfaces work best — Uneven or dirty surfaces can weaken the bond.

FAQ

Can I reposition them after installation?
We recommend placing them correctly the first time for maximum bond. If you need to remove and reposition, use gentle pressure to lift the pad, clean off any debris, and reapply a fresh one for best results.

How do I remove them?
Gently pry up one edge with a fingernail or plastic scraper and peel slowly. Any remaining adhesive can be rolled off with your thumb or cleaned with rubbing alcohol.

What if a pad comes loose or pops off?
This can happen if the surface was dusty or uneven. Simply clean the furniture leg thoroughly, let it dry, and apply a new pad. For best results, follow installation instructions carefully.

Can I use these on rolling chairs or casters?
No. Casters create different load dynamics that can peel adhesive pads prematurely. We recommend using caster-specific wheels or mats.

How do I deal with wobbly or angled furniture legs?
If a leg is uneven, lightly sand it flat or trim the leather pad to match the angle so the entire pad surface contacts the floor. This ensures full adhesion and prevents rocking.

MATERIALS & FLOOR COMPATIBILITY

What makes leather better than felt or rubber pads?
Leather resists compression, doesn’t trap grit, and slides cleanly without shedding. Felt quickly mats down, traps dirt, and can scratch floors over time. Rubber can react with some finishes and leave marks. Leather + adhesive is a premium, long-lasting solution.

Which floor types can these pads be used on?
They work best on hardwood, tile, laminate, finished concrete, and stone floors. We use a nature leather so color does not migrate on to the floor or countertop surface. .

Do these pads scratch surfaces beneath them?
The leather surface itself will not scratch, but if grit collects under the pad, it can. Wipe pad surfaces occasionally to remove debris—especially in dusty or dirty environments. Keep your floors clean.

When should I NOT use these pads?
Avoid using them outdoors, in constantly wet conditions. Extreme humidity or heat may shorten adhesive life.

MAINTENANCE & LIFESPAN

How often should I inspect or replace pads?
Inspect occasionally or when you notice loosening. Pads can last much longer than felt pads under normal indoor use, but replacing worn or dirty pads ensures optimal floor protection.

Can I clean or maintain the pads?
Yes. Wipe the leather surface occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove grit. Avoid harsh cleaners that could weaken the adhesive.

Can I remove adhesive residue if any remains?
Yes. Roll it off with your thumb or clean with rubbing alcohol or a gentle adhesive remover that’s safe for floors.
